Apple Discontinues iPhone Bluetooth Headset
Back in 2007, Apple had unveiled a Bluetooth headset for the iPhone. It went on to become one of the very few things related to the iPhone that did not quite "work out." The product has now been discontinued for obvious reasons.
If you were not aware this thing even existed, here is a picture of the soon-to-be-extinct accessory. The device was quite basic with no A2DP support (the iPhone did not support it either) and it wasn't surprising why it met its fate. With competing products from other manufacturers offering better features at cheaper rates, the product wasn't really able to hold its own. As of now, it is not available on the Apple US Store and production has been stopped.
However, this does point at the probability of Apple coming out with a new version of the product with A2DP and OS 3.0 support. Hopefully, the next edition of the headset, if it ever releases, might just turn out to be a head turner and will cover all the inadequacies that led to the fall of its predecessor.
