Motorola Launches Recycled Phone: Renew W233

Users of the Fido network in Canada will be the world's first bunch of people who will be able to lay their hands on the world's first cellphone made from recycled water bottles!

Thats correct! We're talking about the latest handset from Motorola -- the W233, which claims this "world's first" title. The W233 also happens to be the very first Carbonfree certified handset and its housing is completely recyclable. In fact, the phone package also comes with a prepaid envelope that can be used to send the phone for recycling once you've had enough of it.

The candybar phone is a pretty basic phone with a decent set of features designed to keep the mid-range customer happy. The W233 sports a 65k screen and happens to be a dual band GSM phone. The phone sports a mini USB connector, has dedicated music keys and comes with a 2.5mm jack for audio connectivity. At 83 grams, it is light weight as well.

As of now, the phone is only available with the Fido network in Canada. Pricing details of the unlocked, sim-free Renew is yet to be announced. There is no word of an Indian availability as yet.
